O.B.I. 2nd Class, with the title of “Bahadoor” GGO 12 October 1886.
No trace has been found of an appointment to the 1st Class but GGO 792 of 1894 admits Subadar-Major Shaikh Kadir, Bombay Sappers & Miners, to the 2nd Class of the Order, with effect from the 30th March 1894, ‘vice Subadar-Major Syed Imam, Bahadur, late Bombay Sappers & Miners, deceased.’ This would appear to indicate that Syed Imam had died on 30 March 1894, and that he was still a holder of the 2nd Class Order.
