15th (Yorkshire East Riding) Regiment, a fine quality 1869 pattern junior officer’s full dress shako, of standard format blue cloth on stiffened cork base, narrow gold lace to the top sides and base, correct pattern side and rear ornaments, velvet lined gilt chin chain, fine quality copper gilt stencilled frontal plate original to the shako, copper gilt plume holder (1861 pattern) and original white over red ball plume; internally the remains of the quilted silk crown liner, side silk panels missing and the leather sweat band a replacement, together with the oil-skin foul weather cover (torn), some slight surface mothing to the sunken crown panel and a small fracture to the base of the crown on the plate, otherwise of very fine external appearance £400-600
