R.V.M. 7 June 1910, for services with “B” Battery, Royal Horse Artillery, at the funeral of King Edward VII.
John Loveday served with 7th Brigade, Royal Horse Artillery, in France from 15 August 1914. He was discharged wounded on 29 January 1915 and is entitled to the Silver War Badge.
