Archibald McLaren attested into the Royal Scots on 25 January 1915 and served during the Great War on the Western Front with the 8th Battalion from 1 September 1915. He was discharged on 20 February 1919 and awarded a Silver War Badge, No. 480,430.

Angus McLaren, from Newchapel, Staffordshire, was born in 1885. He attested into the North Staffordshire Regiment for service during the Great War, and saw later service with the Royal Berkshire Regiment.
