The Mourning Ring of Frederick Prince of Wales given in 1750 to Mr Andrew Armstrong, of the Royal Household, gold and enamels, the five scrolls that form the band inscribed in gold on black enammel ‘F:P:W:/OB:20/MAR/1750/Æ:44’, contained in its silk-lined red leather case with small note of provenance, the bottom of the case with old label inscribed in ink with number ‘8’ and ‘Armstrong’, good condition

The ring is accompanied by a small manuscript note which reads: ‘Mourning ring, given to Andrew Armstrong of the Royal Household, on the death of Frederick, Prince of Wales, eldest son of George II, on March 20th 1750’.
