Sidney Goulden was born at Wilton, Wiltshire, and attested for the Wiltshire Regiment at Salisbury. Transferring to the Somerset Light Infantry, he served with the 1st Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front. He died at home on 27 June 1918 and is buried in Bournemouth East Cemetery, Hampshire.
