George Henry Morris attested for the Royal Berkshire Regiment for service during the Great War and served on the Western Front for duties attached to various Prisoner of War Camps. After further service with the 6th Battalion, he transferred into the Cheshire Regiment and was awarded the Military Medal whilst serving with the 10th Battalion.
