An oval engraved medal with decorated rim, 47mm x 38mm, silver, hallmarks for Glasgow 1865, obverse engraved ‘Presented by Ex. Lieut. Whitelaw to the 9th. Compy. I.V.A. being a Prize for Carbine Competition’, reverse engraved ‘Won by Corporal Robert Black Glasgow 1st. January 1866.’ with integral loop suspension, with top and bottom brooch bars on riband, and silver crossed rifles affixed to riband, good very fine £80-£100
