During the Second World War the RAF navigators and pilots were issued with watches made by brands such as Omega, Longines and Jaeger-LeCoultre.
They are identifiable by the MoD’s specifications such as black Arabic numerals, centre seconds, fixed lugs and blued steel non-luminous hands. The cases are marked by the RAF stores reference number 6B/159 which refers to aircraft navigation equipment.
