Egypt, Late Period - Ptolemaic Period (664 - 30 BC), a naophorous statue, dark grey hard stone, possibly basalt. of a kneeling male official holding a smaller figure of a deity or shrine, 28 x 16.5 x 10 cm, 6.9 kg. Heavily worn with the facial details of the official reworked £200-£300

From an old UK collection from Lincolnshire

Naophorous statues were popular from the New Kingdom through to the Graeco-Roman period with the figure presenting outwards a diety suggesting a deep respect with the god.
