British Iron Age, GALLO-BELGIC, Stater, series Ab [Ambiani, VA], celticised head of Apollo left, rev. horse left, pellets and ornamentation around, rosette below, charioteer above, 7.02g/11h (Sills class 8; ABC 4; BMC –; VA 12-1; S 2). Struck from worn dies, as is usual for type, surface scratches on both sides, otherwise fine £400-£600
