162 medals with these dates issued to the Royal Navy, but this is the only example to this ship which otherwise received 9 medals dated ‘1846’.

Aquila Alpe also received the China 1842 medal for service aboard H.M.S. Melville, and, in November 1859, the L.S. & G.C. medal (wide suspension) as Boatswain’s Mate aboard H.M.S. Princess Royal after 21 years’ service. The latter medal was sold in the Douglas-Morris Collection (Part 1) in October 1996.
