Bernard Pearson first entered the French theatre of war as a Private in the 1st Battalion, Monmouthshire Regiment in February 1915. Subsequently taken P.O.W., he was repatriated as early as February 1916, when he was admitted to Queen Alexandra’s Military Extension Hospital at Millbank, London, at which establishment he was honourably discharged as a result of his wounds on the 23rd of the following month.
