Fred Robinson, who was born at Brynmawr, Brecon and enlisted at Newport, was first embarked for active service with the 1st Battalion, Monmouthshire Regiment, in February 1915, and was thus entitled to the 1914-15 Star. He subsequently died of wounds in Germany on 11 May 1915, aged 28 years, his remains later being re-interred in the Tyne Cot Cemetery, Zonnebeke, Belgium.
