Three: Lieutenant J. F. Cunniam, Army Service Corps, late Royal Dublin Fusiliers

Joseph F. Cunniam was born in Dublin and educated at St. Thomas’s College, Newbridge, Co. Kildare. He enlisted, as one of the ‘Pals’, into “D” Company, 7th Battalion, Royal Dublin Fusiliers. With them he landed at Sulva Bay on 7 August 1915. He was invalided, suffering from rheumatism on 24 August 1915. Cunniam was commissioned a Temporary Lieutenant in the Army Service Corps on 15 October 1915 and later saw service in France. His photograph appears in The Pals at Sulva Bay by Henry Hanna.
