Richard Lundy was born in Middleton-on-the-Wolds, Yorkshire and enlisted at Manchester. Serving with the 13th Battalion Liverpool Regiment he was awarded the M.M. for bravery at Guillemont, 14 August 1916. Later, whilst serving with the 12th Battalion Manchester Regiment he was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 12 October 1918. Lundy was buried in the Montay-Neuvilly Road Cemetery, Montay, Nord, France. He was the son of Mrs Elizabeth Lundy of 41 Sycamore Street, Oldham Road, Manchester.
