Royal Regiment of Artillery, a fine and rare officer’s shoulder belt plate 1837-49, the rectangular gilt back plate with burnished edge and dimpled ground mounts comprise the Royal Arms of Great Britain post 1837 over a scroll ‘Ubique’ with a cannon and bottom scroll ‘Quo Fas et Gloria Ducunt’, the leather liner with ink inscription ‘Old Artillery Bst plate changed on 19th Febry 1849 a Waist Belt having been substituted’, ‘Lt John McDougall Sept 24th 1849’, near mint state £500-600
