Of the 106 Royal Marines who served on the Nile in the Guards Camel Corps, only 13 were not present at Abu Klea, and only one other was also present at Witu in 1893.
James Neeve was born at Lynn on 12 February 1858, and enlisted at Bradford on 12 March 1877 (ADM 159/63).
