Special Collections

Collecting is something people are either born with in their genes or not. If you are a collector at heart it never leaves you. During my life, so far, I have formed many collections of coins, banknotes and stamps, disposed of them and then started again, usually with a change of focus each time.
Now retirement abroad has prompted me to dispose of my current coin collection. The focus of this one has been mostly 20th century British silver and bronze pennies. It has always struck me how easy it is to obtain these coins, but how difficult it is to obtain them in close to ‘as minted’ condition. I have tried to do this by selecting each coin to be untoned (because for the most part they were not issued toned) and ‘brilliant’ as issued both sides. I hope I have achieved this with the vast majority of the coins offered here.
I would not rule out starting a similar collection again in the future, as the collecting bug is always there, but for now I hope the new owners of my coins will enjoy them as much as I have.
