A Dutch advertising note for Cigars and Cigarettes, claiming to be ‘the defeat of most cigar dealers’, in the style of a Bank of England £5 note, dated 15 August 1901, with some text altered but overall an incredibly realistic copy, down to the impression of a watermark, although it is s shame they did not picture Britannia smoking a cigar, some minor nicks to upper margin, overall very fine and unusual £70-£90
This lot was sold as part of a special collection, The Sir David Kirch Collection of Skit Notes.
