Isle of Thanet Bank for Mesrs Kilderkin Co. & Self, a skit note of an unknown but evidently political nature, promising to ‘pay to Mr Timothy Takeall or Bearer on Demand the Sum of Two Pence’, with hand entered date 10 April 1793, and serial number 10021, signed Titus Taptub, with an amusing vignette of ‘two thieves carrying a pickpocket’, mounting traces, about fine and rare, particularly interesting because of the early date and the fact that there was a real bank of this name
Outing unlisted £100-£150
This lot was sold as part of a special collection, The Sir David Kirch Collection of Skit Notes.
