The Uniform Coinage of India, East India Company, Victoria, silver Proof restrike Half-Rupee, 1840, type I [A/I], Calcutta, so-called ‘Indian’ bust left, victoria queen continuous, rev. half rupee, hasht ana surrounded by laurel wreath with 19 berries, east india company around, date below with stop to right, crescent privy mark, edge grained, 5.87g/12h (Prid. 74 [not in Sale]; SW 2.33; KM. 455.2; cf. Fore I, 521). Spot in lower obverse field, otherwise brilliant and virtually as struck, rare £500-£700
