Approximately 54 M.G.S. medals issued with the single clasp ‘Ciudad Rodrigo’, including 6 to the Royal Artillery.

William Cousin/Cousins was born in the Parish of Dunfermline, Fifeshire, and enlisted for the Royal Artillery on 13 November 1804, aged 17 years. He served as a Gunner and Driver in the expedition to Copenhagen from 29 July 1807 to October 1807; in the Peninsula from October 1810 to May 1812; and at Malta from 28 January 1822 to 22 July 1826. He was discharged in consequence of chronic rheumatism on 9 April 1834, at the age of 46 years and 5 months, making a total service of 28 years and 191 days, and was granted a pension of ‘One Shilling & Three pence half penny a day’.
