Thomas Park was appointed Assistant Surgeon on 1 April 1850, and promoted to Surgeon on 21 December 1855. Surgeon Park served with the Royal Artillery in the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the Battle of Inkermann, the siege and fall of Sebastopol, and repulse of the sortie on 26 October 1854 (Medal with two Clasps, Knight of the Legion of Honour, and Turkish Medal).
