Matron Miss Harman is one of three names on the Q.S.A. roll for ‘Rhodesian Field Force: Civil’, dated 30 December 1901. The other two names are Nurse Miss Alford and Dr Dunley Owen, District Surgeon. The marginal note in the Remarks column against the names of the two ladies reads ‘Nursing members of R.F.F. passing through Rhodesia, from Aug to Nov 1900 at Victoria Hospital,’ while that against the Doctor's name reads ‘Enkeldoorn Hospital Aug to Nov 1900’. Initially they were shown as being entitled to the single clasp Rhodesia, but the powers-that-be disallowed the claim and the medals only were duly issued in May 1902.
