Charles Frederick Pollock was born on 24 December 1844 and gained the M.B. at Trinity College Dublin. He entered the Army Medical Department as an Assistant Surgeon in August 1868 and was appointed Surgeon in October 1867 and Surgeon Major in October 1879. He served with the A.M.D. in the Egypt Campaign of 1882 and in October 1887 he was appointed Surgeon Lieutenant-Colonel in the R.A.M.C. He attained the rank of Colonel in 1898 and was placed on Retired Pay the same year. Colonel Pollock died in Dumfries on 19 December 1915.
