Provenance: Debenham’s, March 1903; Glendining, March 1927; Spink, November 1998.

Joshua Eaton was born in the Parish of Prestbury, Cheshire, and enlisted into the 39th Foot on 14 March 1807, a Weaver by trade. He was discharged from the regiment at ‘Pass of Roncesvalles’ on 10 January 1814, in consequence of ‘wound left elbow at Vittoria’, and received his final discharge from the army at York on 8 March 1814, a ‘deserving soldier’, aged 25.
