Charles Penhorn was born in the Parish of Kingston, near Portsmouth, Hampshire, and enlisted for the 52nd Foot at Dunbar on 16 December 1813, aged 17 years. He served three years and eight months in France, eight years and four months in North America and the remainder at home. He was a Corporal for two years and a Sergeant for ten years and two days, and was discharged in that rank at Enniskillen on 26 June 1835, with 22 years service, including 2 years for Waterloo. Sold with copied discharge papers.
