John William Mills was serving as Third Engineer of the S.S. Hollington on the occasion that she was torpedoed and sunk by the U-95 on 2 June 1917 - he and 29 others lost their lives. Aged 35 years, he left a widow who was residing at Clifton, Bristol, and is commemorated on the Merchant Navy Memorial at Tower Hill, London; sold with brief details.
