Ronald Fountain, who was born in Boston, Lincolnshire in February 1902, served as an Apprentice in the Mercantile Marine in the Great War and was issued with his British War and Mercantile Marine War Medals in August 1925.

Having then taken his Master’s Certificate in 1927, he was serving in the S.S.
Lycaon on the renewal of hostilities in September 1939, but subsequently served in the Asphalion up until being discharged in June 1941; sold with further details.
