Hugh McCokingdale, who was born at Kilmeny on the Isle of Islay in August 1877, did not join the Merchant Navy until the 1930s. And he served aboard the steamer
Aranmore from the outbreak of hostilities until his retirement in June 1944 - no claim had been located in respect of his campaign awards; sold with further details.
