James Millwood/Millward was born and lived in Burbage, Derbyshire and enlisted at Derby. Serving with the 1st Battalion North Staffordshire Regiment, he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 10 September 1914. Serving with the 11th Battalion Essex Regiment, he was killed in action, France/Flanders, 24 March 1917, aged 24 years. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Loos Memorial. Millward was the son of Joseph and Phoebe Millward, of 122 Green Lane, Burbage, Buxton, Derbyshire. With copied m.i.c. and casualty details.
