Lister, who was awarded his L.S. & G.C. Medal in AO 231 of 1938, was commissioned as a Lieutenant, R.E. in April 1941, and presumably qualified as a Bomb and Mine Disposal Officer in the U.K. during the War - the absence of a 1939-45 Star reflects less than six months service in the North-West Europe operations, when he was attached to 21st Army Group. Appointed a Temporary Major in January 1946, he is believed to have qualified for his rare Bomb & Mine Clearance clasp for services in 2nd and 4th Bomb Disposal Squadrons, R.E. on the East Coast; sold with copied group photograph of R.E. Staff, H.Q., 21st Army Group, B.A.O.R., including Lister, and some brief research, including some recommended contacts who served with Lister.
