Joseph Randolph Mullings (1792-1859), Watermoor House, Cirencester, solicitor, MP for Cirencester 1848-59; Ashley George John Ponsonby (1831-98), Hatherop Castle, magistrate, elected MP 7 July 1852. Ponsonby sold Hatherop Castle to the Maharajah Dhuleep Singh in 1862 but the Maharajah soon tired of it and put the house back on the market. The Prince of Wales showed an interest in buying it but, because the shooting was not thought to be good enough, purchased Sandringham instead
