Louis Winkler (1849-1929) arrived in Jamaica in 1881 and earned a living repairing and tuning keyboards; in 1884 he opened the first music shop on the island. His son, Louis B. Winkler (1889-1955) joined the business in 1908. The tokens were manufactured by Quints & Sons, Philadelphia, PA, and were used between 1908 and 1920.
