James I (1406-1437), First Fleur-de-lis issue, Groat, Edinburgh, type III, first variety, mm. cross pattée, tressure of seven arcs, saltire on each shoulder and to right of crown, i on each side of neck and on sceptre handle, reads tra, three lis and two saltires at end of legend, rev. lis in first and third, three pellets in second and fourth quarters, lis stops on obv. lis and saltires on rev., chainwork inner and outer circles both sides, 2.03g/11h (SCBI 35 –; cf. SCBI 72, 399; B 11, fig. 439, same obv. die; S 5197). Obverse nearly very fine but slightly off centre, reverse fine or better, extremely rare £600-£800
