Greek Coinages, PHOENICIA, Sidon: Sixteenth-Shekel, struck at the time of Ba’alshallem II, c. 401-365

Obverse: war galley moving left over stylised waves; ‘b’ in Punic script above

Reverse: Persian king standing right holding upright lion with outstretched arm, preparing to stab with knife, large annulet between them

Metal: silver; Phoenician weight standard; 0.93g/12h

Condition: Struck on an irregular flan, good very fine and dark toned £80-£100
