Greek Coinages, CARTHAGINIAN ISSUES, ‘Ziz’: Tetradrachm, probably struck at Panormos, c. 340

Obverse: sys [in Punic characters]: charioteer driving galloping quadriga left, holding reins in one hand and urging the horses on with kentron; wreath-bearing Nike flying right to crown driver; star in field

Reverse: head of Tanit left, wearing crown of barley, pearled necklace and triple-pendant earring; swastika below chin, four dolphins swimming around

Metal: silver; Attic weight standard; 17.11g/7h

Condition: Almost extremely fine and lightly toned; sharply struck from dies of superb classical style £15,000-£20,000
