Haws, manufacturers of garden equipment, Tala Works; Wilden Tin Works, which closed in 1948 but had origins dating back to the first half of the 17th century, was acquired by E.P. & W. Baldwin in the mid-19th century, and the future prime minister, Stanley Baldwin, was employed there from 1888, maintaining his connections with it until he became MP for Bewdley in 1908; Witley Court Gardens was the 1850s creation of William Andrews Nesfield (1793-1881), working for Lord Dudley Ward (1817-85)
