Herbert Frost served during the Great War in India and Mesopotamia as Regimental Sergeant-Major in the 5th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment. He later served as Warrant Officer First Class with the 1/5th Battalion, attached General Nightingale’s Column at Swara, Kurdistan.
