Napoleonic Medals from the Collection of Antony Griffiths

Foundation of the Cisalpine Republic, 1797, a copper medal by by G. Vassallo and J. Salvirck, bust of Napoleon left with long hair, rev. standing figures of Pax holding palm branch, and helmeted France as Minerva, placing Phrygian liberty cap on the figure of Insubria, who is led to left by a putto, 48mm (Hennin 793; Julius 556). Extremely fine, tan patina £90-£120
