Napoleonic Medals from the Collection of Antony Griffiths

Assembly of Paris, 1789, a copper medal by B. Duvivier, bust of Louis XVI left, rev. draped figure of Liberty, holding Phrygian cap on staff, stands at obelisk which she inscribes with date, 46mm (Hennin 41; Julius 33). Good very fine or better £70-£90

The medals in this collection were principally acquired by Mr Griffiths in the late 1980s and early 1990s from the late Jean-Claude Baudey; Mr Griffiths wrote a series of articles on the subject in The Medal, 16-18 [Spring 1990-Spring 1991]
