Middlesex [City of London], Uncertain locality, Peter Anderson, Jorden’s Halfpenny, 1795, in white metal, City arms, domine dirige nos above shield, rev. ornate pa cypher, edge plain, 10.25g/6h (DH 249a). Scratch on cross and minor scuff marks in reverse field, otherwise extremely fine and brilliant, the obverse particularly attractive, of the highest rarity; the only specimen known to the cataloguer £500-700

Presumably struck as a test of the altered obverse die, which then broke after 8 pieces had been struck from it (see also lot 284)
