Provenance: Bt March 1992.
The recipient of the badge was Thomas Harvey, who served his apprenticeship from 1790-7. This type of circular badge was first introduced in 1803, but they proved not to be popular and their use seemed to have died out within a few years. Sold with a relating article by the vendor from Canal & Riverboat, November 2000
