M.I.D. London Gazette 17 October 1919. ‘Honours for Services in Minesweeping Operations between the 1st July and 31st December 1918.’
Charles Thomas Rogers was born in Henley, Buckinghamshire on 27 November 1882. A Fitter & Turner by occupation, he entered the Royal Navy as an Acting Engine Room Artificer 4th Class on 16 May 1904 and was confirmed in that rank in November 1905. He was promoted to E.R.A. 3rd Class in May 1907 on Mercury; E.R.A. 2nd Class in May 1911 on Blenheim; Acting C.E.R.A. 2nd Class in August 1916 and C.E.R.A. 2nd Class in August 1917 when on Ladybird and C.E.R.A. 1st Class in August 1922 on Tara. For his late wartime services in minesweeping on board Ladybird he was mentioned in despatches. He was penioned on 15 May 1926.
