Henry Turnbull was born in Clifton, Ireland on 17 December 1868. He entered the Royal Navy as an Acting Engine Room Artificer in April 1894 and attained the rank of C.E.R.A. 1st Class in October 1909. During the Great War he served on torpedo boat TB.115, December 1915-March 1916 and the cruiser Chatham, May 1916-August 1918. Awarded the Royal Navy L.S. & G.C. in 1908 when on Blenheim. Demobilised in 1919. With copied service papers.
