Joseph Lee was born in Newton, Devon on 30 June 1851. Entering the Royal Navy in November 1877, he attained the rank of Chief Engine Room Artificer in May 1887 and was awarded the L.S. & G.C. in the same year when on Indus. Served on Agincourt, October 1880-May 1884, for which he was awarded the Egypt Medal 1882 without clasp. Pensioned in December 1897. With copied service paper.
