Private J. T. Allaway, 20th Battalion London Regiment, suffered a gunshot wound to his left fore-arm, 7 July 1917. He was discharged physically unfit on 15 June 1918.
Private J. C. H. Bennett, 20th Battalion London Regiment, died at home on 15 December 1917 and was buried in Richmond Cemetery.
Private F. C. Giles enlisted into the 29th Battalion London Regiment on 7 September 1914 and transferred to the 20th Battalion on 26 June 1915, entering the France/Flanders theatre of war on 26 June 1915. He was discharged on 2 June 1916 after suffering trenchfoot, pyrexia and influenza. He was awarded the 1914-15 Star and Silver War Badge.
John Cope Murch lived at Goodmayes and enlisted at Blackheath. Serving with “C” Company 1st/20th Battalion London Regiment, he was killed in action on 25 September 1915, aged 29 years. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Loos Memorial. With a copied extract from The Journal, 19 November 1915, reporting him wounded and missing.
Arthur Ernest Perrin enlisted into the 20th Battalion London Regiment on 19 May 1915. He entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 10 November 1915. On 8 April 1916 he suffered a gunshot wound to the neck and back. Invalided to England, he was discharged on 14 September 1916 due to his wounds. He was awarded the 1914-15 Star and Silver War Badge.
