Erroneously entered on the Penelope’s roll in the surname of ‘Morris’, rather than ‘Norris’.

Edward Norris was born in Chatham, Kent in February 1861 and entered the Royal Navy as a Stoker 2nd Class in October 1880. A Stoker by the time of his service in H.M.S. Penelope (May 1882 to August 1884), he was invalided ashore in November of the latter year.
