Alfred Edward Mills was born in Amerley, Surrey, lived in Lambeth and enlisted at London. Serving with the 1st/2nd (City of London) Battalion London Regiment (Royal Fusiliers), he was killed in action on the first day of the battle of the Somme, 1 July 1916. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial. With original medal forwarding slip and casualty details.
